SavePulse does not appear

The current public SavePulse release targets supported Qlik Cloud tenant pages under *.qlikcloud.com. If you're using a different Qlik deployment type, it may not be supported in the initial public release.

My note does not auto-save

  1. Make sure the note actually changed.
  2. Leave the note field.
  3. Check the SavePulse status.
  4. If SavePulse shows setup is required, use Teach SavePulse.

Teach SavePulse

Open the full SavePulse bar and open the settings/compatibility controls.

  1. Select the field you normally type your note into.
  2. Select the Qlik Save control you normally use.

Qlik may gray out the Save control when there is nothing pending to save. SavePulse can still teach that disabled Save control without clicking it during setup.

Remove a taught layout

Use Forget Taught Layout in SavePulse settings.

Move SavePulse

Drag the full bar using its drag area. When minimized, the small OPEN widget can also be dragged.

Saving alert

The optional SAVING alert can be turned on/off and placed anywhere on the screen using Set Flash Location.

Different Qlik layout?

Qlik environments can be customized. SavePulse was directly tested against the Qlik Cloud environment available during development. If your layout is different and SavePulse cannot recognize it, contact Support and we'll do our best to evaluate whether the layout can be supported in a future update.

Before sending a screenshot: remove or obscure customer names, VINs, account numbers, email addresses, phone numbers, financial information, internal company information, login/authentication information, and anything else confidential. Crop the screenshot to the smallest area necessary to show the note/comment field and Save control.

Frequently asked questions

What does SavePulse do?
SavePulse automatically triggers the existing Qlik Cloud Save control after a supported note/comment field changes and you leave that field.
Does SavePulse save on every keystroke?
No. The intended workflow is to save after you leave a changed supported field.
Does SavePulse send my notes to a server?
The current public SavePulse release has no SavePulse backend. The extension temporarily reads the active supported note field locally to determine whether it changed and does not intentionally persist or transmit the note text.
Does SavePulse have analytics?
No analytics or telemetry are included in the current public release.
What does SavePulse store?
Chrome local extension storage may contain SavePulse UI preferences and, if you use Teach SavePulse, selector mappings scoped to the relevant Qlik environment/app.
What if my Qlik layout is different?
Use Teach SavePulse. If that still does not work, contact Support with a carefully redacted screenshot of the edit/Save area.
Why will SavePulse not just click any Save button?
Because that would be unsafe. If multiple controls are plausible or confidence is too low, SavePulse stops instead of guessing.
Can I move the SavePulse bar?
Yes. The full bar and minimized OPEN widget are draggable and their position is remembered locally.
Can I turn off the SAVING words?
Yes. The Saving Alert can be turned off while retaining the smaller SavePulse status/pulse behavior.
Can I move the SAVING alert?
Yes. Use Set Flash Location and click where you want the alert to appear.
Does SavePulse guarantee that Qlik accepted the save?
No. SavePulse triggers Qlik’s existing Save control. Qlik’s own application/server determines whether the save is ultimately accepted and retained.
Is SavePulse made by Qlik?
No. SavePulse is an independent third-party product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Qlik.

When reporting a compatibility problem, include the SavePulse version, whether the Qlik URL is a standard *.qlikcloud.com tenant, what SavePulse status says, and whether Teach SavePulse can select the editor and exact Save control.

Never send passwords, authentication cookies or tokens, customer files, raw Qlik exports, unredacted screenshots, or private business records.
